General Information
All oral presentations including plenary, industrial, special, invited, and all contributed lectures will be given during morning and afternoon sessions. Other contributed papers will be in the form of posters. Tutorial lectures for students and young scientists are to be held from Friday afternoon to Saturday. All are invited and attendance is mandatory for invited students. An educational tour for invited students to Daeduk Science Town follows the conference from Sunday (August 26)  to Tuesday (August 28).

Language
The official language of the conference is English.

Oral Presentations
The length of each oral presentation is 45 minutes for plenary and special speakers, 30 minutes for invited and 15 or 20 minutes for contributed speakers. Each lecture hall will be equipped with a 35 mm standard slide projector, an overhead projector and a data- video beam projector. Since the personal notebooks cannot be connected to the beam projector CD should be prepared in speed of 8X. They are to be given to the projectionist 30 minutes prior to the beginning of each session. The contents will be copied onto a hard disk from which the presentation will be made. Only the "PowerPoint" software is available for presentation using the beam projector.

Poster Sessions
All contributed posters are scheduled to be presented in the two afternoon poster sessions. Poster mount is sized 80 cm (w) x 170 cm (h). Contributed posters will be on display for a half day. They must be mounted at the latest by the end of lunch time and must be removed after the end of each afternoon poster session.

Tutorial Courses
Tutorial courses will be given from Friday afternoon (August 24) until Saturday morning (August 25). Please consult the ICPOP website for further Information. The tutorial session is open to anyone wishing to attend, but is mandatory for all invited students and young scientists.

Study Visit for Invited Students and Young Scientists 
Study visit for invited students and young scientists to Daeduk Science Town in the city of Taejon, the meca of Korea's scientific research, follows the conference from Sunday (August 26) to Tuesday (August 28). Scheduled visits include the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT),  the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), LG Research Park, Hannam University and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

Extended Abstracts
A limited number of abstract contributions will be accepted. Preliminary 100 word abstract is not a pre-requirement for submitting the extended abstract. For optimum results, prepare your contribution using an abstract guideline shown below. Conference Proceedings
Papers of ICPOP 2001 will be published in a special issue of Optical Materials by Elsevier Science Publishers. Plenary, special, invited and contributed oral lectures as well as poster presentations will be included in the conference proceedings following the review. Plenary, special, and invited lectures are given 6 printed pages, while 4 printed pages as in regular Optical Materials publications format are allotted for those poster contributions. The manuscripts have to be submitted to the registration desk, at the latest by 5 pm on Monday, August 20. They will be refereed and returned to the authors right after the conference.
